Exhibitor interview: HydroDyn Systems

In this exhibitor interview, we spoke to Andreas Schmidt, Head of Supply Chain Management at HydroDyn Systems.

HydroDyn Systems offers plant modules for special tasks in the processing of plastic waste. With the technology from the organisation, recycled plastics for the first time achieve qualities that allow for an equivalent substitution of new plastics.

What do you think sets your company apart from your competitors?

The advantages of the HydroDyn process compared to conventional processes are a low energy and water consumption and washing without chemicals at a very high cleaning performance. The focus is on the core device, the HydroCleaner, producing high-purity polymers from plastic waste for mechanical and chemical recycling. HydroDyn bundles its technology and recycling know-how with the PreOne International GmbH knowledge about polymer quality requirements and polymer distribution.

Are there any new technology developments that your company is working on at the moment?

HydroSeparator technology. Precisely coordinated interaction of the HydroCleaner and Hydrocyclones. The aim of the HydroSeparator technology is to develop a highly efficient purifying solution, on the basis of the hydrodynamic effects.

What are the biggest challenges facing the industry today and how can this be overcome?

The rising prices for raw material and for transports, and d isrupted supply chains and long delivery times.

How do you see the sector developing in the next five to ten years?

The demand for high quality plastics continues to grow strongly and recyclates will have to replace more and more virgin material. The existing requirements also remain for the recyclates, thus the requirements for the recycling processes also increase. Consequently, the classic recycling process will also develop and requires innovative technologies.

What are you most looking forward to at this years’ show?

We would like to present our current recycling solutions. We are looking for contacts to existing and new business partners. These business partners should have an interest in innovative technologies and processes and should be open form communication about recycling solutions at all.

HydroDyn Systems will be exhibiting at the Plastics Recycling World Expo Europe.
