Simon Waddington graduated from Brunel University in 1986 with a BSc. (Hons.) in Material Science and Polymer Chemistry. He began his career as a chemist in the polyurethane coatings industry and then moved to Switzerland in 1989 to join Dow Europe (Polyurethanes) as a Technical Service and Development Engineer for flexible foams. This was followed by various technical roles within Dow for the coatings, adhesives, sealants and elastomers (CASE) markets, before he transitioned to a commercial function responsible for the marketing of Dow`s polyurethane raw materials and systems for CASE applications. He spent two years as Marketing Manager for the flexible foam market before returning to the CASE markets as a Business Development Manager. Since 2012 he has been consulting within the polymer industry working with chemical start-ups. He was part of the team that transitioned the Novomer ,Inc. CO2 polyol technology to Saudi Aramco in 2016 and is currently the Business Development Director for Interface Polymers Limited.
