Exhibitor Interview: BORETECH Environmental

We recently interviewed Boretech, a leader in plastic recycling technology.

Ahead of their appearance at the Plastics Recycling World Expo, we discussed their innovative solutions, industry trends, and how they’re driving advancements in PET recycling.

Can you provide a brief overview of your company and the products/ services you'll be showcasing at the event?

Boretech is focused on plastic recycling technology, providing total solutions for plastic recycling, including PET bottle washing lines, bottle-to-fiber, and bottle-to-bottle plants.

The latest technology ES Process PET bottle washing line adopts the optimal recycling process configuration with excellent washing performance, generating high-quality recycled PET flakes.

The integrated equipment process significantly reduces area occupation and improves automation of operation. The occupied area, unit energy consumption, human safety, equipment stability, durability, and product quality have been further improved.

What recent trends or developments in the industry are you most excited about, and how do your products/ services align with them?

The mechanical recycling of PET bottles has generally got to the point where it is not prone to significant technological leaps. Instead, the market is shifting its focus to the better design of a recycling system that is more energy saving, carbon reducing, modular, and  generates rPET flakes with higher and more stable quality. The ES process we will be showcasing has reached a new milestone in land requirement, washing performance, stability, unit energy consumption for production, and automation. We are confident that the ES process will help customers stand out in this increasingly competitive PET bottle recycling market.

Could you share a success story or case study demonstrating how your products/ services have benefited a customer?

Empacar S.A., a leading packaging company in Bolivia, specializes in manufacturing sustainable packaging. To align its core values with national circular economy principles, Empacar entrusted Boretech to install a new PET bottle washing line. The state-of-the-art plant commenced operation earlier in 2024 after successful installation and commissioning.

The Boretech PET bottle washing line tailor-made to Empacar’s needs and the characteristics of the local bottle sources is capable of processing about 35,000 tons of waste bottles per year. The high-quality flakes generated are super-clean, suitable for its bottle-to-bottle application.

With tremendous efforts and dedication to the more sustainable future supported by innovative technologies, Empacar reaffirms its commitment to innovation, quality and sustainability, positioning itself as a benchmark in the packaging industry in Bolivia, and striving to be a leader in recycling in Latin America

Will you be conducting any demonstrations or interactive activities at the event? If so, what can attendees expect?

No

What are your company's goals for the future, and how do you see yourselves contributing to the evolving industry landscape?

  • We will continue to push the boundaries of the mechanical recycling process for PET bottles, while developing and promoting chemical recycling processes for "difficult to recycle" PET materials (such as PET trays and PET films).
  • Delve into the recycling process of other daily post-consumer plastics (such as PP, HDPE, and LDPE) continues, with the goal to recycle all kinds of plastics.
  • Develop the pyrolysis process to provide recycling solutions for plastics that are difficult to sort and recycle.
